I am very excited to learn from Hitoshi that there are
a number of fans of the wonderful Minox cameras in Japan, and
I am very honoured that he has asked me to make a comment to
you. Japan has been known throughout the world for many years
as producers of many different kinds of cameras of very high
quality. I have proudly owned, and still use several Japanese
cameras today. To learn that in a country that produces some
of the finest cameras in the world there exists a group of people
who share my love for the German made Minox cameras is a very
exciting piece of news for me! The art of photography with a
Minox camera is one that demands a slightly higher level of skill
than with other, bigger cameras because of the extremely small
negative. Your enthusiasm for the Minox cameras shows your dedication
to photography on a greater level than many other people. You
are all members of a very small, and very elite group of people
in the world who appreciate the fine quality of subminiature
cameras, and the excitement and joy that comes from seeing beautiful
photographs come from them. You also enjoy the pleasure of having
a tiny, precision camera with you at all times, ready in an instant
to capture forever those moments in your lives that many other
people never have the chance to do because they are without a
camera at the time. In this way, you share across political and
cultural boundaries a skill and passion with dedicated Minox
photographers from many countries around the world. I am very
happy to know you, and to share this passion with you.
Sincerely,
D.
